Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce have scrapped their original wedding plans in Rhode Island and will now tie the knot at Madison Square Garden in New York City, citing security concerns.
The couple had chosen June 13, 2026, as their wedding date at the Ocean House resort in Westerly, Rhode Island.

However, an evaluation by Swift's security team found the venue could not safely accommodate the large-scale event.
An anonymous insider told Us Weekly that the coastal property posed "insurmountable logistical hurdles" for security.
"Taylor and Travis really wanted their wedding in Rhode Island, and June 13 was the date, but security wouldn't have worked because it could get out of hand with that kind of scale of an event," the source said.
The protection team assessed multiple venues before concluding that Rhode Island's open perimeters created too many vulnerabilities.
"Rhode Island wasn't great because the nature of the access and the perimeters were too difficult to secure.

So the main issue with Rhode Island ended up being security," the insider explained.
Another source confirmed that the high number of invited guests worsened the logistical challenges, forcing organizers to abandon the original plans entirely.
"Everything was being planned in Rhode Island.
And so many people wanted to come that plans had to change because it became bigger," the source added.
New Venue: Madison Square Garden
Organizers shifted the event to Madison Square Garden, citing its windowless design, underground parking entry, and controllable street access.
