Zheng's Breakthrough Victory

Zheng, 22, secured his first career main-draw victory on grass by dominating the final 10-point tie-break in the fifth set.

He converted the first of five match points to seal the win.

Norrie, a former Wimbledon semi-finalist and world number 29, entered the tournament on a five-match losing streak and without a grass-court win in 2026.

Despite breaking Zheng's serve in the opening game, Norrie struggled with consistency, recording five winners and 11 unforced errors in the second set.

He failed to break Zheng again for the rest of the match.

Zheng leveled the match twice and showed composure in the decisive tie-break.

"Thank you so much to the crowd, it was an unbelievable atmosphere and an honour to be part of a match like this," Zheng said after the match.

"It's what every kid dreams of, and against such an accomplished player. It was not easy.

I was trying my best not to show it. Wimbledon is far and away the best tournament.

Hopefully I can keep the run going," he added.
