Germany will take on Paraguay in the 2026 World Cup Round of 32 knockout stage at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 9:30 p.

This match marks Germany's first World Cup knockout appearance since winning the tournament in 2014.

Paraguay, meanwhile, returns to the knockout round for the first time in 16 years.

Group Stage Performance

Julian Nagelsmann's Germany topped Group E with six points.

They opened with a 7-1 thrashing of Curacao, followed by a 2-1 win over the Ivory Coast, before a 2-1 loss to Ecuador in their final group game.

Germany had failed to progress past the group stage in the last two World Cups after their 2014 triumph.

Paraguay advanced as one of the eight best third-placed teams in Group D, finishing behind the USA and Australia with four points.

They lost 4-1 to the USA in their opener, then beat Turkey 1-0 and drew 0-0 with Australia to secure progression.

Team News

Germany will be without center-back Nico Schlotterbeck due to a tournament-ending ankle injury. Paraguay welcomes back Miguel Almiron after he served a one-match suspension.
