The single-player-focused action campaign puts players in the role of a helicopter pilot known as the Mechanic.

Working with the musical trio Deep Cut—Shiver, Frye, and Big Man—players explore the Spirhalite Islands to hunt for treasure and battle waves of enemy Salmonids.

Multiplayer and Co-op Features

Players can team up with up to four participants via local wireless or online play to complete group treasure hunts.

Enemy strength and loot scale based on group size, and players can secure rooms with optional passwords.

A "Call for Help" feature allows solo players to connect to the internet and bring a helper into a raid.

Activating this option triggers a temporary cooldown after a successful raid, while assisting others grants in-game rewards.

The game uses a looter-shooter progression system with over 100 weapon variations and three specialized ink tank classes: Speed, Power, and Tactical.

Players level up their tanks through missions, unlocking gadget slots and customizing them with parts found during island excursions to modify damage, range, and cooldown times.

According to a 90-minute gameplay demo reported by Polygon, missions focus heavily on combat over puzzle platforming.

Players must clear enemy waves to mine crystals using an Exploration Bot.

Three difficulty modes—Tourist, Raider, and Survivalist—can be toggled at any time on the hideout ship without altering loot types.
