The Florida Panthers have acquired goaltender Jacob Markstrom and forward Angus Crookshank from the New Jersey Devils in a multi-player trade announced Tuesday.

In exchange, the Panthers sent forwards Evan Rodrigues and Jesper Boqvist, along with prospect Ben Steeves, to New Jersey.

Trade Details

The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun confirmed the deal on social media, stating: "Evan Rodrigues, Jesper Boqvist and Ben Steeves to NJ in exchange for Jacob Markstrom and Angus Crookshank.

That's the full Panthers-Devils deal."

Markstrom returns to the franchise that originally drafted him in the second round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

The trade addresses roster changes as Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky prepares to enter free agency.

Sportsnet reported that Bobrovsky, who turns 38 in September, could command a new contract worth up to $42 million over six or seven years.

Markstrom is entering the first year of a two-year contract with an annual $6-million cap hit.

The 31-year-old Swedish netminder posted a 3.07 goals-against average and an . 883 save percentage in 44 games last season with New Jersey.

This is the first trade completed by New Jersey Devils general manager Sunny Mehta since he took the role in April.
