Delhi Metro's Blue Line experienced significant delays on Tuesday evening after an overhead equipment failure occurred between Anand Vihar and Vaishali stations.
The disruption lasted from 5:20 p. m.

Passengers faced delays of up to 30 minutes at several stations, including Mandi House.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) implemented single-line operations between Yamuna Bank and Anand Vihar to maintain partial connectivity.
Normal services continued on the Noida Electronic City to Dwarka Sector 21 route.
To carry out repairs, train services were temporarily halted on the affected section.
"To carry out restoration work, services were halted between Anand Vihar and Vaishali for some time. Normal services resumed at 6.43 p.
m. ," said a DMRC official.

The DMRC used station and in-train announcements to manage the surge of stranded passengers.
"Train services between the Anand Vihar and Vaishali section of the Blue Line were affected from 5:20 PM to 6:43 PM due to OHE failure," a DMRC spokesperson stated.
Before full restoration, the transit authority posted updates on social media platform X.
"Delay in train services on Blue Line due to technical issue between Anand Vihar and Vaishali," the spokesperson said.
Another update confirmed: "Temporarily, no train services available between Anand Vihar to Vaishali due to OHE issue."
After repairs, DMRC announced: "Normal services have resumed on Blue Line." Earlier, a notification had pinpointed the disruption start at 5:21 p.

Separately, the Violet Line also experienced delays on Monday morning due to a signaling malfunction at Central Secretariat station, according to a PTI report.
