Relic Entertainment announced on July 2, 2026, that it will launch Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand, a new standalone roguelite wave-defense game, for PC via Steam on July 29, 2026.

The upcoming title shifts the series' signature World War II tactical combat away from traditional real-time strategy campaigns into a survival experience.

Players must construct layered defenses and survive against escalating enemy forces across 12 increasingly challenging rounds featuring 36 boss units and 18 dynamic battlefield events.

Gameplay and Features

The game supports single-player and two-player cooperative play across five distinct battlegrounds tailored for wave defense.

Players can choose from four factions: the US Forces, British Forces, Wehrmacht, and Deutsches Afrikakorps, each featuring a persistent progression tree that permanently unlocks perks between runs.

Tactical options during runs include randomized upgrades, such as choosing between a ranger squad or an M4 Sherman Bulldozer tank, alongside eight difficulty levels and an optional endless mode.

Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand will retail for $29.99, featuring a 10 percent launch discount and a 20 percent bundle saving for existing owners of Company of Heroes 3.

The standalone expansion does not require ownership of any previous franchise titles.

Relic Entertainment also revealed that the franchise turns 20 in September 2026, noting ongoing plans for Company of Heroes: Definitive Edition scheduled for fall 2026 alongside continued franchise updates.

The game is designed to deliver a punchier and more immediate experience that throws prospective generals straight into tactical combat scenarios.

"Players can jump right in and experience the thrill of holding the line against overwhelming odds, whether they're longtime fans or new to the franchise," stated Relic Entertainment.

The studio noted that the expansion aims to deliver the core tension of the franchise through optimized wave-based mechanics.

The game "captures the classic Company of Heroes feeling of those pivotal moments where when faced with overwhelming odds, preparation, adaptability, and decisive command determine survival," added Relic Entertainment.
