Cambridge City and Histon have discovered their initial opponents for the 2026/27 FA competitions following the official draws released on Friday, July 3, 2026.
FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round
In the FA Cup extra preliminary round, Cambridge City will travel to Lowestoft Town on the Suffolk coast.

Cambridge City manager Mickey Spillane previously played for the Trawlerboys during the 2015/16 season.
This marks the fourth FA Cup meeting between the two Isthmian League North Division clubs. Cambridge City currently hold a 2-1 head-to-head advantage.
Should Cambridge City advance past Lowestoft Town at Crown Meadow, they are scheduled to host fellow North Division side AFC Sudbury in the subsequent preliminary round.
Meanwhile, Histon will secure home advantage at Bridge Road for their FA Cup extra preliminary round fixture against higher-level opponents Brightlingsea Regent.

A victory for Histon would guarantee another home match in the preliminary round against either Cornard United or Downham Town from the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division.
FA Trophy and FA Vase
The draws also outlined fixtures for other FA knockout tournaments. Cambridge City will host Redbridge at the FWD-IP Community Stadium in the FA Trophy first round qualifying.
In the FA Vase first round qualifying, Histon will visit Soham Town Rangers, marking a reunion with their former player and manager Lance Key.
Key previously guided Histon to the Eastern Counties League Premier Division title in the 2018/19 season.
