American tennis player Coco Gauff will take on fellow American Claire Liu in the third round of Wimbledon on Friday at 11:30 a.

Gauff is seeking her first-ever quarter-final appearance at the All-England Club.
Gauff holds a 2-0 career head-to-head record against Liu, with both previous wins coming on hardcourts. Their most recent meeting was in January 2024.
So far in the tournament, Gauff has defeated Tamara Korpatsch and Solana Sierra. She currently has a 65% win rate on grass at Wimbledon.
The Grand Slam event remains a statistical challenge for Gauff.

Her grass-court win percentage is 9% lower than her next-worst major tournament, the Australian Open, where she holds a 74% win rate.
Liu reached the third round for the first time in her career by defeating Hanne Vandewinkel and Zeynep Sonmez.
This marks her best finish at a Grand Slam.
