Injury Updates

"Plays super hard, whether it's rolling the ankle or sliding hard into a base," said Lovullo.

Lovullo minimized long-term worries about Carroll, emphasizing that the outfielder continues to follow his standard pregame preparation routines.

"Running things down in the outfield. There's always a minimal concern that he's going to come up a little achy.

But he's doing fine. He's going through his process, everything's the same," said Lovullo.

The manager also confirmed that closer Paul Sewald is available out of the bullpen after recovering from a recent illness.

"He said that he had a real good day (Thursday) and continued to feel even better, and today (Friday) ready to go," said Lovullo.
