Renata Ford, the wife of late Toronto mayor Rob Ford, passed away in Toronto on Monday, July 6, 2026.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford confirmed her death in a brief statement.

Premier Doug Ford, who is her brother-in-law, expressed the family's deep grief. "My heart breaks for Stephanie and Dougie.
They've been through so much at such young ages, and losing their mom is incredibly painful," he said.
The premier noted that the extended family is grieving deeply for Renata Ford's surviving children. "Our whole family is hurting for them.
We ask that people respect their privacy during this very difficult time," Doug Ford added.
Renata Ford had been in the public eye for years.

She ran as a People's Party of Canada candidate during the 2019 federal election, finishing in fourth place.
Her political campaign occurred amid a legal dispute with the premier.
She filed a lawsuit alleging that Doug Ford mishandled the estate of her late husband, Rob Ford, after his death in 2016.
In the lawsuit, Renata Ford accused Doug Ford of causing financial harm to her and her two children.

The premier has denied all allegations regarding the estate management.
