The Independent Investigations Office of British Columbia has launched an oversight probe into a fatal crash on Highway 99 that claimed the life of a female motorcyclist.
The incident occurred on Sunday, July 5, 2026, near Deeks Creek Bridge, moments after the rider allegedly failed to stop for a B.

Failed Traffic Stop Leads to Collision
According to the B. C.
RCMP, an officer conducting speed enforcement spotted two southbound motorcyclists driving erratically at approximately 5:30 p. m.
The officer attempted a traffic stop, but the riders continued past the checkpoint.
After leaving the highway position, the officer discovered that one of the motorcycles had collided with a recreational vehicle.

The female rider sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The provincial watchdog reviews cases involving police contact that result in serious injury or death to determine if officer actions played a role.
