Atletico Madrid has identified former Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah as its primary transfer target to reinforce the attack following Antoine Griezmann's impending departure.

Griezmann, Atletico's all-time leading scorer with 212 goals, is scheduled to join Major League Soccer side Orlando City on July 13.

In his final season at Anfield, he recorded 12 goals and 10 assists, despite a perceived decline in overall performance.
