The Philadelphia Eagles are entering a new offensive era under first-time coordinator Sean Mannion, who replaces Kevin Patullo after an inconsistent 2025 campaign.
Mannion, a former NFL quarterback who spent the past two seasons with the Green Bay Packers, brings a scheme influenced by the Sean McVay and Matt LaFleur coaching trees.

According to The Athletic's Zach Berman, the shift moves away from Patullo's heavy reliance on spread formations, which were used on 28.4% of plays last year.
Mannion will be Nick Sirianni's sixth play-caller in six seasons, but Berman noted that not every change has been the same.
"Last year, Kevin Patullo was viewed as the continuity candidate," Berman said.
The new system emphasizes under-center packages and wide-zone running concepts, altering how the offense moves the ball both on the ground and through the air.
Berman highlighted that Mannion's football pedigree directly informs the operational framework of the new playbook.
"Mannion played for Sean McVay and the Kubiaks, and he coached under Matt LaFleur," Berman said.
Analysts are closely watching how quarterback Jalen Hurts will adapt to these changes, which include executing plays with his back to the defense and attacking the middle of the field without former top wide receiver A.
J. Brown, who was traded to the New England Patriots.
Speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, analyst Ted Nguyen identified the pairing between Mannion and Hurts as a compelling narrative.
"I think Sean Mannion is going to be one of the most interesting new play callers to watch because he's going to the Eagles team with a ton of talent," Nguyen said.
