Prize and Format

The 54-hole tournament offers a total purse of $750,000, with the winner taking home $150,000.

The runner-up will receive $70,000, while third place earns $40,000 from the charitable event.

Notable Participants and Past Winners

Defending champion and former NHL star Joe Pavelski returned to the field alongside past winners, including 2023 champion Stephen Curry and three-time winner Tony Romo.

Early events on Wednesday featured celebrity arrivals, practice rounds, and fan interactions across the course.

This year's field includes prominent stars like Jason Kelce, Bobby Flay, and WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert.

Future Participant Discussions

Media personalities and enthusiasts often compile wish lists of elite athletes and Hollywood stars who have yet to debut at the tournament.

Bill Murray has been a longtime target for tournament executives looking to boost the non-athlete roster.

"We've always gone after him, but after a while we stopped," said Gary Quinn, Vice President of NBC Sports Ventures.

Quinn noted that while the window to secure certain veteran actors might have evolved, their presence always resonates with the gallery at Edgewood Tahoe.

"He plays Pebble Beach. He's a guy we'd love to get here.

He's so good with the fans," Quinn added.

Actors like Mark Wahlberg, who has a single-digit handicap, are also frequently suggested as ideal future additions due to their unique playing styles.

Wahlberg reportedly uses a rapid approach to complete his rounds efficiently under normal conditions, which he calls "cardio golf."
