Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk competed in her first career Wimbledon semifinals on July 9, 2026, with her husband, George Kyzymenko, cheering from the player box.
The couple, who married in late 2023, have a history that dates back to their childhood training days in Ukraine.

Kyzymenko, 29, has been a constant presence in Kostyuk's player box as she rises on the WTA Tour.
Childhood Connection and Reunion
Kostyuk and Kyzymenko first met when she was four years old, practicing at the same tennis club in Ukraine.
Their paths diverged as they pursued different careers and education.
“I met my husband George when I was four years old, we were practicing in the same club in Ukraine.
Our paths just kind of went separate ways when we were younger,” Kostyuk said.
They reconnected in October 2022 after a long separation. “We met again in October 2022 and a year later we got married,” she added.
According to media reports, Kyzymenko moved to the US for studies while Kostyuk turned professional. They lost contact until she returned to Ukraine in 2022.
Five months later, he proposed.

Wedding and Custom Gown
The couple held an intimate wedding ceremony on November 1, 2023, at the Minthis Resort in Cyprus.
Kostyuk collaborated with her athletic sponsor, Wilson, to create a custom bridal gown. Wilson Head of Design Joelle Michaeloff developed 12 initial concepts.
