Southern Arizona is under a First Alert Weather Day as rain and thunderstorms move through Tucson, with a separate wind alert following on Sunday.
Radar detected showers producing light to moderate rain, localized downpours and a few lightning strikes, according to KOLD.
Tucson carried a 50% chance of showers and storms, with additional storm risks overnight and into Monday.
Wind Advisory Timing and Coverage
A Wind Advisory begins at 2 a. m.
Sunday for central and western Pima County and central Pinal County.
At 7 a. m.
Sunday, the advisory expands to eastern Pima County, including Tucson, eastern Pinal County and Santa Cruz County.
The alerts are set to expire at 11 p. m.
Sunday.
Winds may gust up to 45 mph, while isolated strong to severe storms could produce localized gusts up to 60 mph, according to KOLD.
The main threats include damaging wind gusts, small hail and localized heavy rain.
Temperatures are expected to cool from the 90s into the 70s and 50s by midweek.
KOLD's forecast showed a continued chance of showers and thunderstorms through Tuesday.
Highs are projected to fall from near 92 on Saturday to the upper 70s by Tuesday, with Wednesday forecast to be mostly sunny and a high near 77.
