South Wales Police have arrested an 18-year-old man from Morriston on suspicion of murder following a fatal crash in Gorseinon, Swansea.
The collision between a car and an off-road bike occurred on Pen Cae Crwn Road on Thursday, July 9, 2026.

Emergency services arrived at the scene at 12:58 p. m.
, where an 18-year-old man from Swansea was pronounced dead.
A 19-year-old man was taken to the hospital with injuries, according to authorities and the Welsh Ambulance Service.
The arrested driver faces allegations of murder, dangerous driving, driving while unfit through drugs, and driving with a controlled drug above the legal limit.
He currently remains in police custody.
Investigation and Road Closures
The Welsh Ambulance Service deployed two Cymru High Acuity Response Units, an emergency ambulance, and a duty operations manager.
Advanced critical care was provided via a Wales Air Ambulance charity helicopter.
The incident caused extensive rush-hour gridlock and multiple road closures throughout Thursday afternoon and evening.

Officers instructed local residents to remain inside their homes as investigators combed the area.
Detective Chief Inspector Danielle Thorne of the Major Crime Investigation Team thanked the community and urged witnesses to provide dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage captured between 8:00 a.
m. and 2:30 p.
m.
"There is significant police activity in the area and will continue to be for several hours, however we are working at pace to conduct enquiries in this complex investigation," said Thorne.
Pen Cae Crwn Road was closed between Cecil Road and Frampton Road, with additional closures on Brighton Road, Brynteg Road, and Pontardulais Road.
"We have significant resources working to lift these road closures as soon as possible," she added, urging those in urgent need of entry to speak to officers at the scene.

Detectives have asked anyone with relevant information or footage to submit details through the police major incident public portal as the investigation continues.
