A Metropolitan Police officer was hospitalized with head injuries after violent clashes with football fans on Edgware Road in London on Thursday night.
The disorder followed France's 2-0 victory over Morocco in the World Cup.

Riot police were deployed to the area in northwest London after a crowd gathered, blocked traffic, launched fireworks, and threw bottles and debris at law enforcement.
Authorities arrested four individuals for violent disorder. The street reopened around 1 a.
m. after the crowd dispersed.
The Metropolitan Police stated that the incident escalated when the group began throwing bottles and setting off fireworks, prompting additional officers to be deployed.
One officer sustained injuries from a missile thrown during the disturbance. No other casualties were reported.

"One officer was taken to hospital for head injuries; it is believed he had been hit by a glass bottle.
No other injuries were reported," a police spokesman said.
Police maintained a presence overnight to prevent further unrest and began gathering evidence to identify other participants.
"We will not tolerate such disorder on our streets, or attacks on our officers," the spokesman added.
Investigators plan to review surveillance footage and social media videos to identify further suspects.

Similar post-match disturbances occurred across Europe, including in Amsterdam, The Hague, Brussels, and Rotterdam, while Paris remained peaceful.
