Volkswagen has unveiled the production version of its ID.
Cross, an affordable electric SUV that promises premium features and a starting price of €28,000 (£24,000 / $32,000).

The five-seat model is set to arrive in Europe during autumn 2026.
The ID. Cross is the SUV sibling to the ID.
Polo, sharing the same MEB+ platform with the Cupra Raval and Skoda Epiq.
It measures just over 4,150 mm in length with a 2,601 mm wheelbase, positioning it as a rival to the Kia EV2 and Renault 4.
Despite its compact dimensions, VW claims smart packaging delivers more passenger and cargo space than competitors. The ID.
Cross offers 475 liters of cargo room behind the rear seats, plus a 25-liter frunk for charging cables.
Battery and Powertrain Options
Buyers can choose between two battery packs and three power outputs, all from a single front-mounted motor.
The entry-level version combines an 114 hp motor with a 37 kWh battery.
Higher trims offer a 133 hp motor with the same battery, or a 208 hp motor with a larger 52 kWh pack.

The flagship 52 kWh version delivers a WLTP range of up to 436 km (271 miles). The base 37 kWh pack provides 316 km (196 miles) of range.
Charging is respectable: the smaller battery supports DC fast charging at up to 90 kW, while the larger pack reaches 105 kW.
