Mercedes-AMG appears to be developing a hardcore version of its redesigned GT 4-Door EV. Spy photographers recently captured a lightly camouflaged prototype undergoing testing.

The test car seems to be based on the GT 63 variant. It features a more pronounced front splitter, a ventilated hood, and a sizable rear wing.

The rear spoiler also appears taller than on the standard model.

While exterior changes are subtle, the powertrain is likely upgraded. The GT 4-Door rides on the AMG.

EA platform with a 106 kWh battery pack.

The GT 55 uses three axial flux motors producing 805 hp and 1,328 lb-ft of torque, accelerating from 0-60 mph in about 2.7 seconds.

The GT 63 boosts output to 1,153 hp and 1,475 lb-ft, achieving 0-60 mph in 2.3 seconds.

Specifications for the new variant remain unknown.

The interior is expected to carry over, featuring a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14-inch infotainment system, and a 14-inch front passenger display.

Optional AMG Performance steering wheel and seats may become standard.
