A camouflaged Polestar 4 SUV prototype was spotted lapping the Nurburgring, revealing a more practical body style that American buyers will miss out on.
The redesigned tail includes a hatch and a rear window, addressing a key criticism of the existing 4 Coupe.

The prototype is likely the performance flagship with dual motors.
Design and Practicality
The new variant adopts a flatter roofline, roof rails, and an upright tailgate with a genuine rear windscreen.
From the nose to the B-pillars, it shares styling with the 4 Coupe.
The lower profile, full-width LED taillights, and rear bumper carry over, keeping development costs in check and speeding the second body style to market.
Performance Hardware
The prototype rides on 22-inch forged Performance wheels with Brembo brakes, gold calipers, and large ventilated discs.
This hardware comes from the dual-motor 4 Coupe's optional Performance pack, which also includes active ZF dampers.

Polestar's chief test driver Joakim Rydholm was behind the wheel, fine-tuning the EV's handling for its slightly different weight balance and aerodynamics.
The dual-motor 4 Coupe produces 537 hp (400 kW / 544 PS), accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds with a WLTP range of 590 km.
The SUV should carry the same output, though acceleration and range may decrease slightly.
A single-motor version offers 267 hp (200 kW / 272 PS), a 0-100 km/h time of 7.1 seconds, and a WLTP range of 620 km.
US Exclusion
The Polestar 4 SUV arrives on September 2, produced in South Korea.
Sales will cover most global markets, but the US is excluded after the Geely-owned brand's forced exit once the 2027 model year begins.
