The US State Department released a 100-page report on Monday designating several American activists and organizations as "front groups and fellow travelers" for Cuba, according to The Guardian.

The document names high-profile figures including streamer Hasan Piker, Amazon Labor Union founder Chris Smalls, Representative Ilhan Omar's daughter Isra Hirsi, and journalist Amy Goodman for their opposition to US policy toward Cuba.

Official accusations in the report characterize Havana as the "capital of 21st-century communism" and claim the Cuban government leads a covert effort to influence American domestic political groups, described as a "campaign of subversion."

The report asserts that this effort has "infiltrated the highest reaches of the US government, recruited and cultivated generations of American activists, and backed an unprecedented wave of leftwing terrorism on American soil."

Federal officials specifically target the Democratic Socialists of America, noting that New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani holds membership in the group.

The report describes the organization's role in advancing Cuban political influence domestically.

The State Department framed the sanctions as part of a broader strategy against the Cuban government, calling it a "comprehensive push to end the Cuban regime’s malign activities, both in Cuba and across our hemisphere."

The release follows recent measures led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio targeting Cuba's tourism ministry and state-owned entities, alongside an ongoing energy blockade affecting the island nation.
