The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is giving its patrol vehicles a new look for the first time in more than 30 years.
The updated livery replaces the current all-white design with a black-and-white combination, a dramatic departure from the previous scheme.

According to the RCMP, the larger reflective graphics are intended to improve vehicle visibility, especially at night.
New Design Details
As shown on a Ford Explorer, the front bumper, hood, and quarter panels are finished in black, while the doors remain gleaming white.
The black continues across the rear of the vehicle.
Bright blue 'Police' scripts on the doors and the RCMP's iconic logo, now larger and more prominent, add a touch of color.

Local provinces, territories, and municipalities will be able to add their own distinctive touches to the updated livery.
The new look will only appear on newly replaced patrol vehicles. Current vehicles will retain the old livery until they are ready to be replaced.
The first of the new-look vehicles are expected to hit the roads later this summer.
“This new look prioritizes visibility and public safety,” said RCMP Commissioner Mike Duheme.
