London is enduring its longest dry spell since 2018, with the capital recording little to no rain for up to 23 days amid a prolonged heatwave.
The dry conditions have heightened concerns over severe wildfire risks across the city.

Data shows an average of zero rainfall measured across central and south-east England stations for 14 consecutive days from July 2 to July 15.
The Met Office and BBC Weather project temperatures could reach up to 29°C this week, with conditions remaining largely dry and sunny.
Wildfire Threat Escalates
Dry vegetation in parks and open spaces across London has turned into tinderboxes, significantly elevating the threat of grass fires.
Fire safety officials have emphasized the need for public cooperation to prevent further outdoor blazes during this extended hot period.

"Parents and carers can also help by talking to children and young people about fire safety and the importance of respecting the outdoors," an NFCC spokesperson said.
The service noted that community vigilance remains critical as firefighters continue working to manage emergency calls throughout the summer months.
"Most wildfires are preventable.
By making simple, responsible choices, we can all help protect our communities, wildlife, and natural spaces, while easing the pressure on firefighters who have already worked tirelessly to keep people safe this summer," an NFCC spokesperson added.

Meteorologists warn that high temperatures in the upper twenties are expected to persist, with the potential for a fourth heatwave extending the dry conditions well into next month.
