Cleeks GC captain Martin Kaymer revealed on July 22 that LIV Golf's 2026 season finale in Michigan is highly unlikely to take place, casting further doubt on the league's future after Saudi Arabian financial support was withdrawn.
Speaking after a team captains' meeting in the United Kingdom, the two-time major champion estimated there is only a 5 percent chance the Michigan event will occur as planned.

The league is now seeking alternative arrangements.
Kaymer said league executives provided limited updates during the meeting. He noted that Indianapolis is still likely to happen, but Michigan appears to be off the table.
"I know that Indianapolis most likely is happening," Kaymer said. "There was a conversation yesterday.
Michigan, highly unlikely."
He added that the shift from a players' meeting to a captains' meeting indicated a lack of concrete information to share with the broader player group.
Kaymer also expressed concern that the team championship format could further reduce the number of individual tournaments this season, following the earlier cancellation of the New Orleans event.
"Of course we are disappointed," Kaymer said. "I heard yesterday that there were talks that Indianapolis could become a team event instead of Michigan.
That we don't know."
He stressed the importance of finishing the current season and having a clear plan for 2027.
"The whole season was a bit of a … there was so much happening. Yeah.
Canceled New Orleans. Canceled most likely the last event.
