Liverpool winger Rio Ngumoha has declared his readiness to operate on both the right and left wings as the club continues its pre-season tour in Chicago.
The 17-year-old made 29 senior appearances last season, becoming Liverpool's youngest-ever goalscorer with a stoppage-time winner against Newcastle United in August 2025 at 16 years and 361 days old.

With Mohamed Salah's departure and the £34.5 million arrival of Victor Munoz from Osasuna, head coach Andoni Iraola is assessing attacking options for the right-wing vacancy.
England Debut and Growth
Ngumoha earned his senior England debut against New Zealand in June under Thomas Tuchel, after joining the pre-World Cup training camp in Florida.
He described the call-up as surreal. “It was crazy.
I got the call-up just before the last game of the season.
The FA technical director texted me saying he needed to chat, then told me I'd be in the training camp,” Ngumoha said.
He added that the experience was unforgettable. “I met everyone, training was top, and I got to play.
It was unreal.”
Reflecting on his transition into Liverpool's first team, Ngumoha credited his senior teammates for their support.

“At the start they knew me as an exciting young player coming up. Now they see me as one of them, even though I'm still young.”
He also praised the Anfield crowd. “The fans are amazing—the best in the world, without a doubt.
I'm so grateful for their support.”
Looking ahead to the 2026-27 season, Ngumoha outlined his goals under Iraola. “I want to help with goals and assists, but also improve my defensive actions.
I'll try to implement myself as a starter sometimes, but coming off the bench is fine too. It's healthy competition.”
He confirmed his willingness to adapt across the front line. “Being unpredictable off both sides is key.
Everyone knows I can play on the left, but I'm improving on the right. So definitely off both flanks this season.”
