In an Instagram post, Verschuuren said the outpouring of support, while not easing the pain, provides her with strength.

"Although it barely softens the pain, it gives me support and that does me good," she wrote.

Verschuuren described her current emotional state as fluctuating, with good days, bad days, and very bad days.

She explained that she actively tries to leave the house and engage in activities rather than staying home alone.

"It does me no good to sit at home alone all day. So I try to do fun things and get out," she said.

She acknowledged that the grief sometimes feels heavier after returning home but reaffirmed her commitment to moving forward for her family.
