Production for the fourth season of CBS's drama Tracker has officially started in Los Angeles, following a major relocation from Vancouver, Canada.
Lead actor and executive producer Justin Hartley announced on social media that filming began in July 2026, with Ken Olin directing the premiere episode.

Record Tax Credit Incentive
The procedural drama moved its primary production base to California after securing a $48 million tax credit incentive, the largest such deal for a CBS flagship drama in recent history.
The shift allows the production team to use diverse West Coast landscapes for protagonist Colter Shaw's nationwide search cases.
Hartley addressed how the location change affects the series' premise.
"In terms of tone and character, I don't think [the show's relocation] impacts the show at all," he said.
He emphasized that the core structure remains focused on traveling to distinct American communities. "Our show is a road show.
Our character goes from town to town across the United States of America and meets people from all different walks of life and helps them out.

These strangers become kind of his family in a way," Hartley explained.
The expanded access to California landmarks offers new geographic opportunities.
"To be able to shoot in a different place that gives us different landscapes, we're able to go to places—New York, D.
C. , the desert, Texas, the beach," Hartley said.
"It just opens up our world in terms of landscape, which is such a big character of our show," he added.
Season 4 Storyline Shifts
Alongside the geographical transformation, Season 4 introduces major narrative developments following the Season 3 resolution of Ashton Shaw's murder mystery.

The overarching story now pivots to a covert Department of Defense plot involving Colter's brother Russell Shaw, played by recurring guest star Jensen Ackles.
