Girlguiding has launched its first major uniform redesign in over three decades, offering members a modern and flexible range of clothing.
The new collection includes 30 clothing items, 15 accessories, and neckerchiefs, allowing girls to mix and match while still being considered 'in uniform' by wearing just a top from the range.
Designed for Comfort and Self-Expression
A survey of 2,000 girls aged six to 16 in the UK found that 93% felt most comfortable when they could choose their own style, according to Girlguiding.
Felicity Oswald, Girlguiding's chief executive, said practicality, comfort, and sustainability were key in the redesign, which retains heritage elements but adds modern colors and prints.
'The range is all about providing girls with the freedom to express themselves, whilst feeling part of our amazing organisation,' Oswald said.
The uniform includes practical features such as hidden pockets in waistbands, thumb holes, and badge sashes that double as cross-body bags.
Prices start at £12 for a T-shirt.
Members can continue wearing the old uniform until they need a replacement and are not required to buy the new range immediately.
TV presenter and Girlguiding ambassador Angellica Bell praised the new design, saying it 'empowers girls and volunteers to embrace their individuality.'
