Iran's Revolutionary Guards announced they intercepted four vessels attempting to cross the Strait, firing warning shots to enforce control.
According to Iranian media, the tanker explosion occurred after the vessel struck a mine outside navigation routes designated by Iranian authorities.
Officials emphasized that vessels must coordinate with Iran's armed forces and follow approved corridors to avoid such consequences.

Brent crude futures fell to $91.20 per barrel, and West Texas Intermediate dropped to $84.40 per barrel.
The conflict has also expanded to the Red Sea region, where hostilities between Yemen's Houthi rebels, aligned with Iran, and Saudi-backed forces resumed in mid-July, including missile attacks on southwestern Saudi Arabia.
