Seattle police are investigating a mass shooting at the Bite of Seattle festival at Seattle Center that left three people dead and four others injured, including a toddler.
The shooting occurred Sunday evening near Sue Bird Court and Thomas Street, following an apparent exchange of gunfire between two individuals.

Officers arrived after reports of gunfire just after 6:00 p. m.
and evacuated the area as emergency personnel responded.
Four patients were transported to Harborview Medical Center with gunshot wounds to the arm, leg, and abdomen.
A 39-year-old woman, a 23-year-old man, and a 2-year-old boy are in stable condition.
A 56-year-old woman is in serious condition, and an additional victim died late Sunday night.
Paramedics treated another 40-year-old woman at the scene for minor injuries.
Police immediately took one suspect into custody at the festival grounds and recovered two firearms.
A second suspect is believed to have fled, and another individual is being interviewed.
Witnesses described a chaotic scene as attendees rushed for safety near the fountain.
"Seven to eight shots, in Bite of Seattle, right at the fountain," two attendees said.
Event workers helped families escape over perimeter fences after recognizing the sound of gunshots.

"At first I was working, I work right over there, and I thought people were playing a game.
I heard boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. I see families running and yelling, and that's when everything just went white," one witness said.
