Wrexham is on the verge of signing Crystal Palace right-back Danny Imray for a fee of approximately £5 million, as of July 27, 2026.

The 23-year-old defender is set to become manager Phil Parkinson's first summer signing.

According to reporter Mike McGrath, Crystal Palace is expected to leave Imray out of their squad for the upcoming pre-season Como Cup in Italy to facilitate the move.

Wrexham secured the deal ahead of interest from second-tier clubs, including West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City, as well as up to eight Championship teams.

Imray's Loan Experience

Imray spent the second half of last season on loan at West Bromwich Albion, making 15 appearances and scoring one goal.

He helped the Baggies secure five consecutive clean sheets during their successful fight against relegation.

Before that, the defender scored twice in 16 appearances while on loan with Blackpool in League One.

During the 2024/25 season, he played for Bromley and won the club's Young Player of the Season award.

Imray is a versatile defender who can play as a traditional right-back or as a wide wing-back.

His arrival addresses Wrexham's need to fill the spot vacated by Issa Kabore after his loan from Manchester City ended.

Wrexham continues its pre-season preparations following a 3-2 victory over Leeds United in the United States.
