Billionaire Elon Musk has come under intense criticism for using his platform X to promote the far-right film Citizen Vigilante, which features extreme anti-immigration themes.
The movie, directed by Uwe Boll and starring Armie Hammer, depicts a protagonist who kills police officers, judges, and refugees in retaliation for crimes committed by migrants.

German regulators initially denied the film a rating before Musk made it available for free streaming on X for 48 hours.
The move briefly pushed the movie to the top of streaming charts on major providers.
Musk further sparked outrage by sharing a post that described vigilante murder as a moderate response to immigrant violence.
Analysts say his actions fit a broader pattern of supporting right-wing political figures and amplifying white nationalist talking points.
Experts Warn of Musk's Influence
“This is a crusade,” said Georgios Samaras, Assistant Professor of Public Policy at King’s College London.
“Musk uses the power he has to amplify the ideas that he thinks should dominate society.
He knows he has the money and he knows he has the influence.”
During recent unrest in Northern Ireland following a stabbing incident, Musk posted a list of street protest locations and called for repeated public demonstrations.

Research groups noted thousands of violent comments generated on X under posts shared by Musk and political activists.
Musk also wrote posts such as “She is France’s last hope,” “literally true,” “Only by protesting REPEATEDLY and LOUDLY will there be any change!!”
