Nissan has refreshed the Dayz, its smallest and most affordable passenger car in Japan, with a focus on safety and convenience.

The updated kei car gains wider front camera angles for better emergency braking, a rear seat reminder, and a USB-C port.

The second-generation Dayz, first launched in 2019 and facelifted in 2023, now receives its second update.

Exterior changes are minimal, but Nissan adds two new two-tone color options: White Pearl / Cinnamon Latte and Frozen Vanilla Pearl / Celadon Green.

On all two-tone models, door handles match the roof color.

New Variants and Powertrain

Buyers can opt for the Bolero or Highway Star Urban Chrome variants from Nissan's NMC division.

The Bolero, based on the entry-level Dayz X, features rally-inspired 15-inch alloy wheels, white mirror caps, and a beige/pink interior.

The Highway Star Urban Chrome adds dark chrome accents, silver mirror caps, multi-spoke 15-inch alloys, special floor mats, and waterproof seat upholstery.

Under the hood, the Dayz retains its two 660cc three-cylinder engines, both paired with a CVT and available in front- or all-wheel drive.

The naturally aspirated version produces 52 hp, while the turbocharged unit delivers 64 hp, with an additional 2.7 hp from a mild-hybrid system.

Pricing starts at ¥1,500,400 ($9,200) and goes up to ¥2,217,600 ($13,600) for the top-spec turbo 4WD Highway Star Urban Chrome.

The Dayz remains the cheapest new passenger vehicle in Nissan's Japanese lineup, though it costs more than the brand's commercial kei vans and trucks.

The Clipper Truck starts at ¥1,344,200 ($8,200), and the Clipper Van at ¥1,454,200 ($8,900).
