Senator Mitch McConnell, the 84-year-old Republican from Kentucky, continues to undergo rehabilitation after a fall in July and has not yet been medically cleared to return to work, the congressional physician's office confirmed on Monday.
McConnell has been receiving daily care at a rehabilitation center, where doctors from the Office of the Attending Physician meet with him regularly to monitor his recovery.

Daily Physical Therapy and Polio History
Since leaving the hospital, McConnell has been participating in multiple daily physical therapy sessions aimed at rebuilding his strength and preventing future falls.
The physician's office noted that McConnell's childhood bout with polio significantly affects his current mobility challenges.

"He is not yet medically cleared to leave the rehab facility and return to the office," the Office of the Attending Physician stated in a release.
In a statement shared by his staff, McConnell apologized for missing an upcoming annual Kentucky picnic scheduled for next Saturday.
