The original cast of The Sandlot is reuniting for a new comedy series called Dugout Dads, premiering August 26 on YouTube.
The series is produced by Patrick Renna's Hambino Media.

Renna, who played Hamilton "Ham" Porter in the 1993 film, drew inspiration from his own experience coaching his son's Little League team.
In Dugout Dads, Renna's character coaches his kids' team and faces challenges from other coaches and parents rather than the children themselves.
The first official trailer, released July 26, pays tribute to Renna's iconic character. "When you're a kid, baseball is your life.
Then one day, you and your friends go out to play for the very last time. Only nobody knew it," his character says.
"Well, I have news for you... That was not the last time."
Renna told Deadline that after years of coaching Little League, he witnessed many intense adult moments on the field, inspiring the show.

"After years of coaching Little League, I've witnessed some truly epic meltdowns on the field, and it's always the adults (I'd be lying if I said it was never me).
I just knew those experiences had to become a show," he said.
Danielle Fishel from Boy Meets World stars as Renna's character's wife.
Other original Sandlot cast members include Tom Guiry, Chauncey Leopardi, Marty York, Brandon Quintin Adams, and Victor DiMattia.
Dugout Dads focuses on the adults' antics in the stands and dugout, exploring themes of parenthood, competition, and the true spirit of youth sports.

While not a sequel, the series honors The Sandlot's legacy by revisiting its heartfelt spirit through parents passing the love of baseball to the next generation.
