ERG, an Italian multi-energy company, has submitted an application to expand the Evishagaran Wind Farm in County Londonderry from 13 to 20 turbines.
The wind farm is located off 175 Gelvin Road on the slopes of Benbradagh hill, approximately 3.5 miles east of Dungiven.

The proposal includes a substation and construction compound to connect to the electrical grid.
ERG aims to maximize existing access tracks while avoiding deep peat and priority habitats.
The additional seven turbines would generate enough low-carbon electricity to power up to 25,000 homes annually in Northern Ireland.

According to ERG, the expansion would reduce carbon emissions by about 34,000 tonnes each year.
The company also expects job creation during the construction and operational phases, supporting the local supply chain and sustainable economic growth.

ERG operates other nearby wind farms, including Craiggore and Corlacky.
