PGA Tour rookie Jackson Koivun celebrated his first professional victory at the 3M Open in Blaine, Minnesota, on July 26, 2026, by skipping traditional media obligations to fish at the TPC Twin Cities lake.
The 21-year-old golfer secured the title by three strokes over World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, finishing with a tournament-record 25-under 259.

A video posted on X by tournament organizers showed Koivun fishing against the sunset.
"Only in the Land of 10,000 Lakes can a championship celebration look like this," the 3M Open social media account stated.
Koivun's mother, Megan Koivun, noted the celebration aligns perfectly with her son's personal interests outside golf.
Fans online reacted positively, with one commenting, "Such a big win for that kid. Congrats, JK."
Another observer wrote, "He hooked every golfer in the field."
Koivun previously played at Auburn University, where he won the Haskins, Hogan, and Nicklaus awards before turning professional at the John Deere Classic in June 2026.

The victory followed a strong Saturday performance, where Koivun carded a 10-under 61, including a back-nine record of 28.
During the final round, he maintained his lead with a birdie on the 16th hole and ranked second in Strokes Gained: Putting at 5.468.
