Liz Waddell, a 44-year-old from North Carolina, has been missing since July 22 while vacationing in Grenada.

She was last seen at Grand Anse Beach.

According to the Royal Grenada Police Force, surveillance footage captured Waddell approaching a pier and entering the water.

She then disappeared from the camera's view.

Waddell was on a three-week trip with a close friend named Heather. She left their Airbnb around noon without her phone, ID, or shoes.

Hours later, Heather found only Waddell's towel on the beach.

Family spokesperson Amanda Romano-Harmon said, "Liz had literally left in a swimsuit with a towel. She didn't have her phone, ID, anything with her, no shoes."

Romano-Harmon described Waddell as someone who would "give you the shirt off her back."

Waddell's husband, Cailen Waddell, has traveled to Grenada with other family members to help search. He told local media, "My wife is a loving free-spirit person.

She could make friends with anyone and she often did."

Police have appealed to boaters and residents for any information. The U.

S. State Department is aware of the case and monitoring developments.
