Directed by Cuban director Carlos Celdrán and translated by Heather McKay, the original stage production runs through September 27 at GALA's Columbia Heights venue.

The narrative focuses on Juan Pujol, a Spanish theatre artist who operated as a double agent to mislead the Nazi regime during the Normandy invasion.

The production features original music composed by Koki Lortkipanidze and stars Kevin Jorges as Juan Pujol, alongside Clara Navarro, Carlos Castillo, Delbis Cardona, Jonathan Collet, and Giovanni Felicer.

Performances will be conducted in Spanish with English surtitles, with tickets ranging from $25 to $50.

Relevance to Modern Society

Addressing the broader themes behind the historical thriller, the creative team highlighted the ongoing relevance of the play's core premise in modern society.

At a time when disinformation, propaganda, and the fragility of democracy continue to shape public discourse, GALA's world premiere examines the power of storytelling to influence perception, challenge power, and shape history, said GALA Theatre representatives.

The play invites audiences to reflect on how dramatic narrative and performance can extend beyond conventional theatrical spaces to become active tools of political resistance and historical change.

The production asks what happens when imagination moves beyond the stage—and becomes a tool for resistance, added the theater's production team.

The creative personnel for the show includes scenic designer Jessica Cancino, lighting designer Hailey LaRoe, projections designer Luis García, costume designer Rukiya Henry-Fields, and properties designer Iara Rogers Benchoem.

Press night is scheduled for September 4 at 8 p. m.
