A Los Angeles judge ruled that American singer D4vd must stand trial for the murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
The decision came after a five-day hearing where prosecutors presented evidence deemed sufficient by Judge Charlaine Olmedo.

The 21-year-old musician, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, has maintained his innocence.
He was arrested in September 2025 after authorities found Hernandez's body in the trunk of his car.

Court proceedings revealed that Hernandez had been missing for four months before her remains were discovered.
Prosecutors allege that Burke paid for a taxi to bring Hernandez to his residence in April 2025, where he killed her and attempted to dismember her body with a chainsaw.

Text messages presented in court indicated that the relationship began when Hernandez was 13 and Burke was 18.
Evidence from June 2024 showed that Hernandez was pregnant and underwent an abortion while Burke was 19.
Messages sent the day before her body was found included threats from Hernandez to ruin the singer's career.

Burke faces multiple charges, including murder, sexual abuse of a minor, and mutilation of a corpse. If convicted, he could face life imprisonment or the death penalty.
