Comedian John Mulaney announced on July 28, 2026, during an appearance on TODAY that he will perform nine consecutive shows across nine different New York City venues in January 2027.
The upcoming run, titled "Mulaney Takes Manhattan," will launch on Jan. 7, 2027, at the Comedy Cellar and wrap up on Jan.

Each performance will feature special guests and a unique setup.
The comedy series follows Mulaney's historic performance at Chicago's Wrigley Field during his ongoing "Mister Whatever Tour," where he became the first comedian to headline the venue.
Mulaney shared his excitement about setting up a special multi-venue schedule in New York City during his broadcast appearance.
"Instead of doing one show in New York City, or even three shows in New York City, for my tour, I’m going to do a very special run.
Nine different iconic New York City venues in nine nights," said Mulaney.
He emphasized his enthusiasm for performing at both small clubs and large arenas across the city.
"This is very, very cool, I must say. I’m doing something very cool, and I’m a very cool person," said Mulaney.
He noted that returning to intimate spaces while building up to iconic venues adds to the special experience.

"This is really a great way to do the intimate small places. I love playing here, building up to Madison Square Garden, doing Radio City (Music Hall).
