Former boxing world champion Joe Cordina pleaded not guilty to two charges of assault by beating at Cardiff Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, July 28.
The 34-year-old two-time IBF super-featherweight champion appeared alongside 32-year-old Jamie O'Brien following a February altercation outside a Pentwyn service station.

South Wales Police reported the incident occurred on February 27 at Pentwyn Road.
Both men spoke only to confirm their names, dates of birth, and addresses during the brief hearing.
O'Brien did not enter a plea.
A separate charge accusing Cordina of threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place was formally discontinued.
The court previously heard the alleged offenses were "against each other." Nadeem Majid, representing Cordina, said the charges "emanate from one continued incident."
The former champion maintains his innocence, with the court hearing that "any actions were in self-defence."
District Judge Charlotte Murphy scheduled a one-day trial for Cordina on October 13.
"You've pleaded not guilty to two offences, which means there's going to be a trial," she said.
She granted Cordina unconditional bail until the trial.
O'Brien's case was adjourned until August 26 to determine if it could be resolved outside court, and he was also granted unconditional bail.

Outside the courtroom, Cordina's legal troubles coincided with a major disruption to his boxing career.
He confirmed on social media that his scheduled July 4 WBO lightweight title bout against Abdullah Mason in Cleveland was canceled.
