Emilie Kiser has responded to social media backlash after a video showed her 16-month-old son, Teddy, on a boat without a life jacket during a family vacation in Mallorca, Spain.
The criticism was heightened by the tragic death of Emilie's older son, Trigg, who drowned in the family pool in May 2025 at age three.

Public Apology and Acknowledgment
In a statement on July 28, Emilie admitted the mistake, writing that her child should have been in his life jacket for the entire boat ride.
She acknowledged the strong emotions from the public, recognizing both genuine care and anger directed at her family.
Emilie also addressed the grief over Trigg's death, stating that she shares the belief that he should still be here and that reality lives with her every day.
She pledged to continue improving safety and parenting, promising to learn from mistakes and love her children fully.

The video showing Teddy without a life jacket was originally posted by influencer Madi Curtis but has since been deleted.
Emilie has previously spoken about her struggle to cope with Trigg's death and her process of forgiveness toward her husband, who was caring for the children at the time of the drowning.
She revealed on a podcast that she initially felt angry at her husband but realized the accident could have happened to her as well.
