A person died on Wednesday, July 29, after being struck by a train at Highgate Underground station in North London.

Emergency crews responded to reports of a track casualty at approximately 8:00 a. m.

during the morning rush hour.

First responders and paramedics pronounced the individual dead at the scene.

Authorities have not publicly disclosed the victim's age or gender. Officers state the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

Investigation and Service Disruption

British Transport Police confirmed they are preparing an official file for the coroner ahead of an inquest.

Transport for London initially suspended Northern line service between High Barnet and Archway.

The suspension was later updated to between East Finchley and Archway, with minor delays along the remainder of the line.

Local bus routes accepted affected Tube tickets during the disruption.

The incident occurred while commuters were navigating peak transit hours across the capital's rail network.

"We were called at around 8am this morning to Highgate Underground station following reports of a casualty on the tracks," said a BTP spokesperson.

"Officers responded with paramedics, however, sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
