Hamilton police have launched a homicide investigation after two males were fatally shot early Wednesday morning at a housing complex in Stoney Creek.

Emergency crews responded around 2:25 a. m.

to reports of gunfire at Tabby Town Co-op Housing, located at 191 Candlewood Drive near Rymal Road East and Upper Centennial Parkway.

Officers arrived at the scene in the east-Hamilton neighborhood and found two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both were taken to hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Authorities have not released the ages or identities of the victims. No suspect descriptions or details about potential arrests have been made available.

Investigators said it is too early to confirm whether the attack was targeted, but all leads are being pursued.

As part of the investigation, police closed a section of the housing complex and a stretch of Candlewood Drive near Featherwood Crescent.
