A judge set his bond at $5,000 during a Tuesday court appearance, though an outstanding warrant in a separate domestic violence case requires a further court appearance.

The incident occurred around 9:30 a. m.

aboard Miami-Dade Transit Route 100 near Abbott Avenue and Indian Creek Drive.

Police reported that Byrd created a disturbance shortly after boarding, prompting a male passenger to attempt to calm him down.

The confrontation escalated when Byrd pulled a silver multi-tool from his shorts, opened the blade, and approached the victim.

Witnesses, surveillance video, and the recovered weapon supported the arrest made near the bus stop.

During a bond hearing, the presiding judge detailed the evidence recovered from the scene. "He had a silver multi-tool in his right pocket," the judge said.

The judge further described the actions captured during the incident: "He opened his multi-tool to a blade and asked the victim if he wanted to die and walked towards him with a blade in his hand."

The victim informed investigators that he urged Byrd to quiet down before the weapon was produced, prompting Byrd to utter a verbal threat.
