Dutch television presenter Olcay Gulsen has shared that her dog Billie underwent unexpected emergency surgery after veterinarians discovered severe uterine complications during a routine spaying procedure.
On July 29, 2026, Gulsen revealed on Instagram that the scheduled spay turned into a complete hysterectomy when vets found an enlarged uterus with adhesions.

“Billie was super pathetic the last few days… She was spayed and during her surgery they found out her uterus was thickened with adhesions.
They removed her entire uterus and she was soooo pathetic…” Gulsen wrote.
Recovery at Home
Gulsen noted that her fiancé, Eelko van Kooten, has been actively assisting in caring for the recovering dog at their home.

Video updates shared on social media show the dog resting under a blanket and moving around their garden.
“My dream man. So sweet and so worried about Bills,” Gulsen wrote.
The couple, who announced their relationship in August 2024 following the death of Gulsen's father, became engaged earlier this year.

They are scheduled to marry this September in the South of France as Billie continues her recovery at home.
