A fatal collision between a passenger car and a truck on the A27 highway near Oosterhout-Zuid claimed one life early Thursday, July 30, 2026.

Breda police reported that emergency services arrived at the scene shortly after 3:35 AM. Despite their efforts, the victim could not be saved.

Authorities have not yet released the victim's identity. It remains unclear whether the deceased was in the car or the truck.

Investigation and Road Closure

Forensic investigators began a comprehensive probe at the crash site to determine the cause of the accident.

To allow safe investigation, the A27 heading toward Gorinchem was closed between the Sint Annabosch interchange and the Oosterhout-Zuid exit.

The closure was expected to last until approximately 10:00 AM, causing significant traffic delays in the area.

Traffic monitoring organization ANWB advised motorists to detour using the A58, A16, and A59 highways along the northern side of Breda.
